With prodgeny of Peruvian Hemingway, Peruvian Vendagor, Peruvian White Out, and Peruvian Royal Fawn and other well know studs in our lines, we feel we are on the right path. Farm Description:

We are Don and Brenda Greenawalt, and live in Norco CA, which is in Riverside County, in Southern CA. Norco is known as Horsetown USA, but we are trying one cria at a time to make it Alpacatown USA.  Our home is on about an acre, and was set up for horses, so we had been wondering how to put it to use, since neither of us are horse folks.

We purchased our first 2 Alpacas while on a trip to Kansas in Sept of 2006.  We had been studying the benefits of the business, and visiting farms in California, but when we saw Surfrider on a farm in Kansas, we knew we needed to get started.  We purchased Tony and Surf that day, and returned home to prepare a place for them to live.  Surf was scheduled to be in a show in Iowa in late September, so we returned to see how he would do.  He took second, in his category, and we were told later by the judge that it was only because he was 13 months, when the winner was 23 months and more defined.  At that show we purchased 2 more females and a cria, and now with 5 we were hooked.

We waited with anxiety and anticipation of any new parent for the arrival of our first 3 cria’s.  Not knowing what to expect and how to prepare for the deliveries, we purchased every recommended item to stand by and help with the deliveries. Every morning we went out to look for signs of labor around the delivery dates, and every time saw nothing.  On all 3 deliveries we had gone out to run errands, and returned to find new additions standing in the yard.  We got 2 girls and 1 strong little guy to add to our family.

We were able to breed Surf to all 3 females this winter and look forward to deliveries around Christmas.
