Farm Mission Statement:

Our goal is to breed exceptional huacya alpacas to produce superior cria and luxurious fiber that is dyed, carded and sold for roving to fiber artists.

Farm Description:

Leaping Deer Ranch is home to some very spectacular alpacas. Among our most famous are Studmaster Brioni,
Royal Fawn's son Snowmass Royal Thunder, Aussie Rockford's son Rio de Dinheiro, Enchantment's Manuelito (Who got best Fleece at TXOLAN in 2007)  We have 7 herdsires in all.
Other well known studs in our alpaca genetics are Vengador, Godfather,(Brioni's grandfathers,) Studmaster Hemingway, Studmaster Radiator,  Alpha Centauri (Son of Hemingway), Alexander The Great, Seeds of Gold, (full import Peruvian) and the late great Caligula.   WE HAVE A NEW ADDITION TO OUR HERD. MFI PERUVIAN IMPACT'S SON WAS BORN TO NWA. SENNETT. EMILIA'S MALE CRIA WHO IS THE SON OF STUDMASTER MFI PERUVIAN PROVIDENCE WILL MAKE HIS DAD PROUD ONE DAY.
WE ALSO HAD A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL CRIA ON THE 4TH OF JULY BORN TO OAR'S KANDIS WHO'S FATHER IS STUDMASTER RADIATOR.HER NAME IS 'FIREWORKS'
Our herd has grown to 54 this last year, with 21 crias due in 2008
Leaping Deer Ranch is located in Las Vegas, New Mexico which is 75 miles east of Santa Fe. Our ranch is on 12 acres, but we are expanding to 570 acres! We will have a studio for classroom instruction and for teaching and viewing alpaca fiber art. This 2000 square foot facility will offer classes in Fiber art,An art to wear.
We will have seminars and weddings at the ranch so the public can see a working alpaca ranch and enjoy the setting that is on the Old Santa Fe trail.
It would be hard to find a better setting at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in New Mexico.
Marianne has been a quilter and award winning fiber artist for 25 years. Our dream is to create fiber art that includes alpaca fiber. Marianne loves to experiment with yarns, ribbons, and felted pieces.

This is just the very beginning for alpaca fiber. Many artists are trying roving and alpaca FIBER is the next fiber to make it big.
