Farm Mission Statement:

“As the owner of Pacific Breeze Alpacas, I am deeply committed to the care, nurturing, training and breeding of these beautiful, gentle animals. I am dedicated to sharing my experience, knowledge and passion with other alpaca owners, breeders and enthusiasts.”
~Kelley Lucia

Farm Description:

Since 1996, Kelley Lucia has experienced almost daily contact and connections in caring, managing, handling and training alpacas. Owners and breeders around the country prize her level of professional experience and personal passion for these beautiful animals. Kelley is a registered TTEAM® handler specializing in non-force training. Kelley’s commitment to outstanding breeding consultation results in award-winning dams and sires. In additional to owning Pacific Breeze Alpacas, Kelley also owns Pet Guardian, a professional pet sitting and vet tech business. Kelley is certified in Animal Science and Pet Grooming, Dog Obedience Skills as well as Animal CPR and First Aid.

A native of Minneapolis, Kelley came to Santa Barbara County in 1987. She received her degree in Criminal Justice from Santa Barbara City College and worked in the corrections field for seven years. Kelley changed careers by retraining and refocusing on her love of animals. While working as a veterinary tech in Buellton, she was introduced to El Ranchito, met her first llama (Tapioca) and first alpaca (Antonio), and fell in love. Within two months, she was a proud alpaca owner. When Kelley is not caring and connecting with animals (which is rarely), she might be found traveling to visit family around the country.
