Farm Mission Statement:
Our
goal is to provide all of our customers with a completely rewarding experience.
We support our customers through extensive involvement in sales and customer
service, standing behind our commitments with a full guarantee of quality and
satisfaction. Our honesty, ethics, and high standards of business have made us
successful in business ventures prior to the alpaca industry, and serve as a
solid foundation with which to do business in the incredible alpaca industry.
Farm Description:
Our love affair with Suri
alpacas began with a visit to the
Florida State fair, where we saw our first alpacas. Starting out small in 2003 we bought our first Suris. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed it,
and in 2004 we sold our industrial graphics company of 28 years and Southern
Oaks Alpacas became our full time commitment.
From that moment on, we haven’t looked back. Our farm has expanded to over 40 Suri alpacas. We are family owned and operated, on 16
acres, located in sunny Brooksville, Florida; forty miles north of Tampa. We have an intimate knowledge of our
animals, because we (Rod and Belinda Chapnick) maintain and conduct the daily
activities of our farm.
A strong commitment to
quality and customer service, a trademark of our successful graphics company,
are the driving principles of Southern Oaks Alpacas. As part of our founding principles, we are committed to not only
raising a high quality herd, but also to the continuing education of ourselves,
our clients, and fellow alpaca breeders.
We are the only farm in Florida to host continuing educational classes,
such as neonatal and fiber clinics. It
is our plan to continue to host these classes and more as we grow. Check our website for class offerings and
dates. We also believe in giving back
to the Alpaca industry by volunteering and sponsoring both at the local and
national levels.
