Part of your membership with the IAC is a web page where you can market your alpacas for sale and target potential customers in your area. In the IAC farm member section, you’ll find user-friendly editing functions to let you easily upload pictures of your alpaca farm and your animals for sale. This page can help you gain exposure online, as the Ideal Alpaca Community (IAC) web site www.ideal-alpaca.com is built to be search engine friendly and is fully optimized to appear in every major search engine. And now we have new features to announce…

The team at www.seoalpaca.com has finished reviewing and optimizing the SEO section as well as the “description” and “keywords” fields for each farm member.

·         Each member farm now has optimized data in the description and keywords field. Your description field and keyword fields have been rewritten and modified to give your farm page a better chance to be seen and ranked by the search engines. (The rewritten data is based on the existing content on your page.)

·         Each member farm will benefit from a reviewed and modified existing SEO section. The most important fields here are the “Title on Page” and the “URL Text”.

Now that the data is optimized, please make sure not to change anything in the following sections on your farm page:

1.      “Title on Page” and the “URL Text” in the SEO section.

2.      Meta Description and Keyword Fields.

Your content is still the “king” in attracting your prospects and the search engines. Remember that stuffing your description and keywords field with keyword phrases when your farm page has little or no information or has no main keyword phrases in the content will only cause it to be ignored by the search engines.

A blank page is of no benefit to your page visitors, either. Your goal is to provide detailed farm information that will give visitors a reason to contact you. Put yourself in the site visitor’s shoes. If you land on a page with no beneficial information to you, how likely are you to leave and go to another site?

Let the IAC help you gain more online exposure and your prospects to get to know your farm better by completing your farm information:

  • Farm Mission Statement
  • Farm Description
  • Farm Directions
  • Events
  • Gallery
  • Alpacas

Focus on the benefits your farm can provide to potential customers when filling out the information. It’s good to mention all the special features of your farm and what motivated you to start your alpaca business. But keep the main focus on your prospects and what they want to know. By keeping your focus on your customers, you are likely to keep them motivated and interested in what you can offer them.

If you have your own web site, we also highly recommend that you link back to the Ideal Alpaca Community website AND your specific farm page.  Online prospects are cautious and skeptical about where they spend their money, especially for lesser-known companies. They want to see your credentials. They want to know your reputation. Showing them your membership in well-known alpaca organizations such as the IAC or the AOBA is one way to solidify your position in the eyes of buyers.

How to Add these Credibility-Boosting Links

1. It is a simple task to add an IAC link. For those of you who use high-level web development tools, you can just add the IAC logo (either cut and paste the image below, or cut and paste the logo from any IAC web page).

The text that forms the hyperlink should read: “Member of the Ideal Alpaca Community”.  The actual link should point to http://www.ideal-alpaca.com/.

2. Next, to find your member farm page on the IAC, visit www.ideal-alpaca.com.  Navigate to your farm page and copy the page URL. For example, for “Hummingherd Alpacas”, your page URL is: http://www.ideal-alpaca.com/alpaca-farm/hummingherd-alpacas-51.htm

When you link to your page, you could use something like this for the text of the hyperlink:

Visit (your farm name) at the Ideal Alpaca Community

Need help with putting these credentials on your site? I’d be happy to help.  Just give me a call at 800-366-1639 or e-mail me at: pat@seoalpaca.com
